On-Site Training Session
One hour of training in a public setting or walking.
Service Description
Many public places are dog-friendly, but our dogs aren't always ready to experience public places in a relaxed and confident manner. Bringing our dogs to public places before they are ready can induce stress and anxiety, which often leads to undesired behaviors such as reactivity to people or other dogs, barking, inability to relax, scavenging for food or debris, trembling/shaking, etc. We often respond negatively to these behaviors, which only increases the dog's stress level. By applying the same confidence-building strategies that we teach at home and adapting them to these public areas, we can unlock your dog's ability to enjoy these areas without building up stress and "acting out." Some examples of where these sessions can take place: a dog park, a local dog-friendly restaurant or store, or a park or trail. Like the other improvement areas, building a reliable pattern of desired behaviors in public places may require multiple sessions, depending on the dog's current abilities.
